Sunset Village Jupo Campground
Sunset Village Jupo Campground, or 석양마을 주포 캠핑장 in Korean, is a refreshing way to start your morning. Located in a position where you can overlook the open Hampyeong Bay, it operates alongside a pension (a sort of guesthouse or inn). The campground is composed of a general campsite and private caravan site on a sizable 5,700-pyeong area, with decked sites. It also boasts ample auxiliary facilities such as a children’s playground, foot volleyball court, barbecue area, and seminar room.
Location and Surroundings
All sites offer a view of the reddening sun and the sea landscape. Nestled in the quiet hillside, you can enjoy camping while sipping the clean air. Operated by a cooperative created by village residents, the management office is located in the village multipurpose center. The second floor operates as a pension.
Located a stone’s throw away from the campground is Jupo Hanok Village, a picturesque collection of traditional Korean houses. You can reach it by following a hill and pavilion path from the campground, but the refreshing feeling of walking along the seafront route is indescribable. Nearby attractions include Hampyeong Steamed Seafood, Hampyeong Expo Park, Dolmeori Beach, Ilgang Kim Cheol Memorial Hall, and the Golden Bat Ecology Center.
