As you approach the museum, the colorful outer walls adorned with paintings will captivate your attention. These beautiful artworks, carefully selected from the master painter’s and his son’s collection, have been reproduced onto 7,500 ceramic tiles measuring 20x20cm. The result is a compelling representation of the artistic identity of Tongyeong and the vision of the master painter himself. Make sure to marvel at the front wall on the third floor, a reproduction of Jeon Hyuck-lim’s renowned piece titled “Window” painted in 1992.
Getting to the museum is an adventure in itself. From Seoul Express Bus Terminal, hop on an express bus bound for Tongyeong Central Bus Terminal, enjoying a scenic journey of approximately 4 hours and 10 minutes. Upon arrival at the bus terminal, you can take Bus 101, 141, or 200 from the front of the terminal. A short 34-minute ride will bring you to Bongpyeong Nonghyup Bus Stop. From there, follow the road between Chungmu Dental Clinic and Hanaro Mart, continuing until you reach a four-way intersection. Take a right turn, and you will find the museum waiting on your left.
