The story of Seoladawon began in 1996 when the owner, deeply moved by the concerns expressed by a Buddhist monk at Iljiam Hermitage of Daeheungsa Temple, decided to cultivate this special place. Alongside nine young men who shared a passion for tea, they worked together to create the beautiful green tea fields in Haenam and built traditional Korean-style houses, offering a unique and authentic experience.
During the early days, visitors who shared a deep affection for tea started to flock to Seoladawon. Recognizing the need for proper accommodation, the owners constructed eight Korean traditional-style houses, including the Sarangbang made with stones, the earthen house, the wall-frame house, and the earthen bag house. What was initially built as a cultural space has now been transformed into comfortable rooms for guests to enjoy their Hanok Stay experience.
