Inside the gallery, you’ll find an extensive range of exhibits that cover everything you could ever want to know about salt. From its stories to anthropological aspects, the exhibition aims to debunk the misconception that salt is solely responsible for conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure. Instead, it highlights the many useful health benefits of salt by explaining the various types and their uses. One of the highlights of the gallery is its exploration of the daily lives of people living in Taepyeong Salt Farm. You’ll get a glimpse into their world, learning about the intricate process of salt making and discovering the wonders of Hamcho (Salicornia herbacea salt). To reach Salt Gallery, you can take a bus from various locations. If you’re coming from Seoul, you can catch a bus from Seoul Central City Express Bus Terminal to either Gwangju U-Square Bus Terminal or Mokpo Bus Terminal. From there, you can take another bus to Jido-eup, and finally, a bus or taxi to Taepyeong Salt Farm.
Please note that bus schedules and intervals are subject to change, so it’s always a good idea to check before planning your trip. The gallery is located approximately 14 kilometers away from Jido Bus Terminal, and a taxi ride will take around 20 minutes.
