Also known as Mogwa House, this architectural masterpiece was built by Kim Won-jung, the third son of Sukjong-era rector of the National Academy Kim Bang-geol, in 1678. Designated as National Folk Cultural Heritage No. 184, this house is not just a place to stay, but a living piece of history.

The beauty of the Joseon period comes alive as you admire the wooden frame of the door and the open floor space, showcasing the elegance of the literati house. Explore the sarangchae (men’s quarters) and daemunchae (gate quarters) to marvel at the sophisticated architecture of the era. The anchae (women’s quarters) still retains its original appearance, while the sarangchae was rebuilt in 1920. Its relocation to the current location was a result of the construction of the Imha Dam in 1990.

As a guest at Oryuheon House, you’ll have access to a space that includes a comfortable 2-kan room, accommodating up to 4 people. Indulge in the charm of traditional Korean living as you relax in the open floor space and make use of the provided bathroom. Please note that cooking is prohibited inside the house, but worry not. A grill is available on a small yard reserved exclusively for our guests.

To start your day off right, we offer a complimentary Korean-style breakfast, featuring delicious options such as chicken porridge or lotus leaf rice. Let your taste buds delight in these local flavors and fuel up for your exploration of nearby attractions.
