Escape to the serene beauty of Nocwoonjae, a traditional Korean guesthouse nestled in the picturesque Oseong Hanok Village. Experience the warmth of the owners' hospitality, indulge in the delicious homegrown fruits, and immerse yourself in the enchanting art of Oriental painting and tea-making.

Welcome to NocWoonJae, a traditional Korean house nestled in the scenic Oseong Hanok Village in Wanju-gun, Jeollabuk-do. From the moment you step through our flower-lined entrance, you’ll be greeted by the tranquil beauty of our surroundings. As you wander through our two connected Korean houses, you’ll discover a haven of peace and serenity.

Owned by two sisters who have a passion for traditional Korean architecture and design, NocWoonJae was built with meticulous attention to detail. Every aspect of our guesthouse, from the building materials to the embroidered cotton sheets and antique furniture, has been carefully chosen to create a harmonious and inviting atmosphere. The exterior walls, made of red clay and tiles, keep the interior cool in the summer and warm in the winter, ensuring your comfort no matter the season.

The two traditional Korean houses, Naunchae and Unachae, are seamlessly integrated into the natural slope of the landscape, respecting and preserving the surrounding nature. Connected by a hallway with windows, you can sit on the staircase and soak in the breathtaking views outside. Naunchae, meaning “silky cloud,” offers a room, an attic, a kitchen, a hall, and a bathroom. The attic provides a stunning vantage point for observing the lush trees and pine grove. Unachae, meaning “beautiful cloud,” is similar in layout to Naunchae and boasts a tea room, guestroom, kitchen, hall, and bathroom. Both houses feature beautifully crafted interiors, showcasing the natural beauty of red clay and wood.

Beyond the tranquility of our guesthouses, you’ll find a variety of flowers and crops in our front yard, including cosmos, rose moss, and cockscomb. We take pride in growing our own corn, sorghum, strawberries, persimmon, jujube, and plum trees. During the harvest season, guests have the opportunity to pick and savor these fresh fruits and vegetables. Additionally, we offer various experience programs, such as an Oriental painting class where you can create your own masterpiece on traditional Korean paper, and a tea class where you can sample teas made from our very own persimmon leaves and flowers.

Start your day with a delicious breakfast of toast, jam, and milk, or take advantage of our fully equipped kitchen to prepare your own meals. Should you wish to explore the surrounding area, you’ll find popular attractions such as Songgwangsa Temple, Wibongsa Temple, and the majestic Wibong Falls – one of the Eight Views of Wansan Mountain. And if you’re looking for a taste of traditional Korean culture, a short 20-minute ride will take you to Jeonju Hanok Village, where you can immerse yourself in the rich history and charm of a bygone era.

At NocWoonJae, we strive to provide an unforgettable experience, where you can relax and rejuvenate in the embrace of nature and traditional Korean elegance. We welcome you to join us and create lasting memories in this enchanting corner of Jeollabuk-do.
