Welcome to the Gwangnaru Safety Experience Center, a place where you can learn valuable skills and knowledge to keep yourself safe in the face of disasters. Founded in 1999 after two tragic fire accidents, this center was established to provide disaster training for common citizens like yourself.
Situated in a three-story building with one basement floor, spanning over 5,000 m², the Gwangnaru Safety Experience Center offers a comprehensive range of training areas. On the basement floor, you’ll find a small theater where informative sessions take place. The first floor is dedicated to natural disaster training, featuring an orientation hall, storm simulation training room, earthquake simulation room, and computer tests on fire safety knowledge, among others.
Moving up to the second floor, you’ll have the opportunity to engage in artificial catastrophe training. Here, you can experience a smoke escape simulation, practice using fire extinguishers, learn first-aid techniques including CPR, and even role-play calling emergency services on 119. The third floor is dedicated to rescue training, with a rescue training room, a screening room, and training for professionals. Additionally, you’ll find video examples of the five biggest disasters that have occurred in Seoul, providing valuable insight and learning opportunities.
With around 20 training areas in total, the Gwangnaru Safety Experience Center ensures that citizens can immerse themselves in realistic disaster scenarios and learn how to effectively respond. The engaging and interactive nature of the center makes the learning process both easy and interesting.
