Originally established in Daejeon in 1996, the Daelim Museum found its current home in Jongno, Seoul in 2002. The museum was thoughtfully designed by the renowned French architect, Vincent Cornu, and built by the esteemed Daelim Corporation. Its doors opened to the public in late May 2002, inviting art enthusiasts and curious travelers alike to embark on a visual journey.

Upon entering the museum, you will find yourself on the first floor, surrounded by a serene garden, a convenient parking lot, and a warm reception area. As you make your way through the museum, you will discover an exhibition hall on the second and third floors, spanning an impressive 595 m². These floors house small and large rooms, a long gallery, and a special high-ceilinged space, all thoughtfully designed to enhance your viewing experience.

For those seeking a deeper understanding of the art on display, the fourth floor offers a seminar room that can accommodate up to 120 guests. From here, you can also step out onto a balcony and be rewarded with a breathtaking view of Inwangsan Mountain and Bukhansan Mountain. The stained glass panels, inspired by traditional Korean wrapping cloth, and the scenic lounges on the second and third floors, further contribute to the museum’s overall charm.

One of the unique features of the Daelim Museum is its meticulous consideration of the delicate nature of photography. Humidity, light, and temperature are all meticulously controlled to ensure the preservation and presentation of the artworks.
