A sentimental camping site remodeled from a closed school

Sweet Home Campground is located in Munmak. It’s a 10-minute ride from Munmak Exit on Yeongdong Expressway. Once you come out of Munmak Exit, turn left at the first intersection you encounter and pass through Munmak township towards Yeongju. Soon enough, you will cross Munmak Bridge. Immediately after crossing the bridge, turn right onto the village road of Chwibyeong-ri. As you reach the end of the village, you will spot a sign for Whindol Gamli Church, and right in front of it is the Sweet Home Campground. The campground has remodeled an old elementary school that had been closed down. Classrooms have been turned into experience rooms and management offices, and the school’s dormitories have been renovated into bathrooms and shower rooms. The lack of shade is a slight drawback due to the school’s athletic field being converted into the campsite, but there are sites with large sycamore tree shadow on the side of the athletic field. A temporary swimming pool and a trampoline have been set up in front of the management office.
