Stargazing Night: A Unique Seaside Camping Experience
Stargazing Night, or ‘별헤는 밤’ as it’s known locally, is a unique camping site that doubles as a guest house, located within the Gochang Beach Horse Riding Club. This campsite offers a unique twist to the usual camping experience by providing opportunities for horse riding by the sea. The campsite, spread over an area of 4,000 pyeong, consists of various sites made of grass and bare soil.
The Beach Horse Riding Club is home to about twenty horses, all tamed by the owner for the horse riding experience. The campsite also has its own horse riding program, which allows campers to recreate movie-like scenes of strolling on the beach on horseback.
Various Activities and Experiences
Stargazing Night offers a variety of experiences. You can rent a bicycle and ride along the beach or coastal road, or participate in experiences at the Jangho Fishing Village, which is a five-minute walk from the campsite. Campers can enjoy these programs at a 50% discount.
Discover Hidden Treasure
Exiting the campsite leads directly to the beach across the road. This beach is known as Myeongsasipri Beach, a rarity on the west coast, with a ten-li long coastline made of sand dunes. Following the forest trail leading to the sea for about three minutes, you’ll discover the sea. The feeling of discovering the sea after following the shade of densely grown pine trees is like finding hidden treasure, filling one with overwhelming joy.
