Samjeong Campsite: A Tranquil Forest Retreat for Healing and Relaxation

Samjeong Campground: A Tranquil Healing Haven in the Forest

Samjeong Campground

Located within the Gayasan National Park in Chiin-ri, Gaya-myeon, Hapcheon-gun, Samjeong Campground is an auto campsite that prides itself on minimizing damage to its natural features, such as trees and terrain. The campground is a popular destination for families and campers alike, drawn in by its commitment to conservation and its stunning setting. The campground is situated alongside the Hongryudong Valley and offers visitors a chance to take in the beautiful historical, scenic resources of Gayasan, including Haeinsa and Sorigil. Truly, Samjeong Campground is a place where you can capture the essence of Gayasan’s nature throughout all four seasons.

Set at an altitude of 650m, Samjeong Campground consists of 19 campsites, all laid out on a soft moss floor. The rich natural shade provided by the old trees and the cool valley that runs right next to the site make it a popular choice for campers. Although the river depth isn’t deep, just dipping your feet in can wash away all the summer heat.

While electricity use is prohibited, there is a combined toilet and shower facility, with two showers offering cold water only. For summer food storage, fridges are installed near the water source. Free experiential programs for children are conducted twice daily, in the morning and afternoon, but parental participation is required. The information center provides first-aid supplies and free mobile phone charging, adding a touch of convenience to the natural setting.
