Jecheon Modni Ae Campground: An Oasis of Relaxation in Nature
Located in the heart of the Taksajeong Valley, part of Jecheon’s 9 scenic sites, the Jecheon Modni Ae Campground offers a serene retreat for campers. Just a 15-minute drive from Jecheon City Hall along National Route 5 towards Wonju, this campsite is nestled amidst the verdant pine forests and the beautiful Jecheon stream originating from Mt. Chiak, bestowing upon it an atmosphere of tranquillity and serenity.
Facilities and Amenities
The campground is equipped with 30 general camping spots, including 5 deck sites of 6m x 6m, 10 grassy sites, and 15 gravel sites. Facilities such as a brazier, electricity, and wireless internet are available, and the site is also open for usage by trailers and caravans. The campsite operates in spring, summer, and fall, with reservations accepted via phone, on-site, and online in real time. While there is no on-site shop, major convenience stores and supermarkets are just a 10-minute drive away, ensuring that campers won’t have any trouble procuring supplies.
Surrounding Attractions
The campground is conveniently located near several tourist attractions, including the Taksajeong, Euirimji, and Beron holy ground. It’s also an excellent base for exploring Danyang, Wonju, Chungju, and Yeongwol, which boast of attractions such as the Cheongpung Lake. The area is dotted with famous restaurants offering local specialities such as herb dishes, muk (a type of jelly made from grains), and tofu. Other recreational activities in the vicinity include canoeing, mountain experiences, pottery, freshwater fishing, spas, hot springs, and golf courses, promising a diverse and enjoyable leisure experience.
