Famous Mountain Valley Campground
Located in the deep slopes of the Famous Mountain in Seorak-myeon, Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do, the Famous Mountain Valley Campground provides a tranquil getaway not too far from Seoul. This serene camping site, situated by a clear stream within a lush forest, was once part of the Famous Mountain amusement park. It’s an ideal spot for those seeking a quiet camping experience amidst nature.
The campground runs a large restaurant and a pension, but their camping site, located by the stream, is distinctively built on a 30cm high wooden platform. They operate 10 sites, each measuring 5m x 7m. While the external showers may need a bit of improvement, they’re fully functional. The management office operates like a convenience store, but please note that they don’t sell other products aside from camping gear. This campground is especially beautiful during autumn when the foliage turns bright with colors.
