Okgye Auto Camping Ground
The Okgye Auto Camping Ground, or 옥계오토캠핑장 in Korean, is a stunning camping site where you can dig for clams and cockles on the beach.
Introduction
The Okgye Auto Camping Ground is located at the entrance of the Chilcheonryang Naval Battle Park, with the Okgye Beach right next to it. This camping site boasts over 30 spots, which are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The Okgye Beach, right next to the camping ground, has a sandy surface but as you dig deeper, you’ll find a layer of clay filled with clams and cockles, providing an excellent natural learning experience for kids.
Adjacent to the camping ground is a massive ship named Seonjinho, bound to spark curiosity among the kids. Beyond the Seonjinho, there’s a decked coastal exploration trail. At the starting point of the trail, there’s a place for water leisure activities so you can enjoy some water sports. Walking along the trail, with the scent of the woods and the sea in the air, is a naturally healing experience.
