National Miceon Valley Natural Recreation Forest

At the eastern side of the Taebaek Mountain Range lies the National Miceon Valley Natural Recreation Forest. Renowned for its pristine and unspoiled eco-system, this camping site is adorned with a clear valley and a unique pine forest.

Introduction

The National Miceon Valley Natural Recreation Forest is set amidst the well-preserved forest and valley of the remote and untouched nature of the Taebaek Mountain Range. The forest is thriving with various species of broad-leaved trees that are over 50 years old, including Silver Birch, Oak, Pine, Maple, Alder, and Birch. The clear and lengthy valley flowing between the strangely shaped bedrock forms an amazing spectacle. The recreation forest is equipped with outdoor classrooms, multipurpose squares, forest houses, campsites, pavilions, springs, physical training centers, hiking trails, walking paths, children’s playgrounds, swimming areas, stadiums, and foot volleyball courts.

The campsite located within the valley of the recreation forest is divided into three zones, consisting of 84 camping decks (53 general, 21 auto camping) all nestled within the pine forest overlooking the valley. Recent renovations have included the refurbishment of restrooms and showers, and the installation of picnic tables at each camping deck for a more enjoyable camping experience.
