The Story of Gwangiweon

The story of Gwangiweon begins with Kim Gwang-ja, who was deeply saddened by the fading culture of making kimchi at home. This led her to create a haven for traditional Korean cuisine lovers – Gwangiweon. Their unique culture of serving mu yeomchuk (Korean radish salad) and six-year-old soy sauce before meals is a testament to their commitment to promoting the flavors of authentic, healthy Korean delicacies.

Experience the Taste of Nature

At Gwangiweon, the slogan is “Maturing Deliciously with Nature”. And indeed, every dish served here is a reflection of this ethos. During the sweltering summer, Gwangiweon becomes the go-to place for a bowl of Ppobjakjang, a hearty soup made with their homemade Doenjang (Korean fermented soybean paste), perfect for stimulating the appetite.
