The National Youmyong Mountain Natural Recreation Forest, commonly referred to as the Auto Camping Site, is a top-notch facility nestled in the Youmyong Mountain in Seorak, Gapyeong County, Gyeonggi Province. This camping site, conveniently accessible from Seoul, has long been a favorite among auto campers for its excellent amenities and serene ambiance, making it an ideal spot for anyone seeking a tranquil healing experience.
The camping site operates a total of 20 single sites, each measuring 10m x 6m, and is structured on three-tiered steps in front of the Forest Culture Recreation Center. Located at the highest point among the recreation forest camping sites, it offers a superior view. It also boasts spacious and clean facilities, with the shower and toilet areas located about 10 meters away but not inconveniently so. The site is also equipped with restrooms and shower rooms that are easily accessible for people with disabilities.
The management office is located between the first and second camping sites. Upon entering the recreation forest, your reservation is checked (parking is free and additional charges apply as per the regular parking fee for an extra car), and your site is assigned. The price ranges from 16,000 won on non-peak weekdays to a maximum of 28,000 won during peak weekends, making it quite affordable.
