Hampyeong Butterfly Village Seoul Campsite
Experience serene and comfortable camping in a place lush with greenery.
About the Campsite
The Hampyeong Butterfly Village Seoul Campsite is a newly revitalized area from a former local closed school in Seoul. Located on Hampyeong-gun Hampyeong-eup Hampjang-ro, it opened in March 2017 and spans 5,800 square yards. The campsite has 20 tent sites and 21 individual caravan sites, accommodating up to 10,000 people per year (80 people per day). All campgrounds are deck sites, and tents (for 4-5 people), mattresses, picnic tables, fireplaces, and basic electrical facilities are provided for free. Amenities include showers, toilets, a kitchen, and an attached parking lot. The campsite is open from mid-March to November each year and closed in the harsh winter.
Facilities and Activities
The campsite, though small, is fully-equipped and offers a variety of facilities and activities. As it was built using a closed school, it features classrooms, a Go room, a book cafe, and a table tennis room. There are also entertainment facilities such as a deer enclosure, trampoline, and a sandpit. During the summer, a temporary swimming pool is open to help cool off from the heat, making it a popular destination for family travelers.
