Evergreen Camping Ground: A Hidden Gem in the Forest
Located in the North District of Pohang city, Gyeongsangbuk-do, the Evergreen Camping Ground or “늘푸른캠핑장” in Korean, is a haven for nature lovers. Roughly 29 kilometers away from the Pohang City Hall, the journey to the camping site is a beautiful ride along the Hope Street, Youngilman Street, and the East Sea Street. The entire drive is approximately 40 minutes, leading you right to the doorstep of an enchanting forest.
The camping site is placed right by a stream that flows from Naeyeonsan Mountain, making it an ideal spot for cooling off during the summer. It is no wonder that hordes of campers flock here to enjoy a dip in the stream and a fun-filled camping experience. Surrounded by forest, the camping ground exudes a naturalistic charm, with 27 general campsites available.
Campsite Details
The campsites are laid with crushed stone and come in three sizes: 8m x 9m (12 sites), 7.5m x 7.5m (5 sites), and 8m x 10m (10 sites). The camping ground is equipped to accommodate trailers and caravans. Small dogs are also allowed free access to the campsite. Please note that the camping site is closed annually from January to February.

Evergreen Camping Ground is also conveniently located near some of Pohang’s well-known tourist spots, including Bokyungsa Provincial Park, Hwajinpo Beach, and Josa-ri Temporary Beach. There are also plenty of restaurants nearby, perfect for food enthusiasts.
