Firefly Campsite: Embrace Nature with Family
The Firefly Campsite, or “반딧불이 캠핑장” in Korean, is located in the mountainous region of Sanne-myeon, Gyeongju City, Gyeongsangbuk-do. This tranquil retreat is approximately 40km from Gyeongju City Hall, a journey that takes around 60 minutes by car via the Silla Road, Dansok Road, and Munbok Road.
The campsite is beautifully integrated with the surrounding mountain and stream, offering a unique opportunity to enjoy camping with nature as your companion. You can add to the fun of camping with water games in the stream and even experience catching freshwater mollusks.
Facilities and Amenities
The Firefly Campsite features 59 general camping sites lined with crushed stone and one deck site. Each site measures 8m by 8m, providing ample space for a comfortable camping experience. The sites are equipped with individual fireplaces, electricity, and wireless internet. Personal trailers and caravans are also welcome.
Additionally, a convenience store is operated in the management office, and extension cords are available for rent. The campsite is closed annually from early January to the end of February.
Nearby Attractions and Activities
There are plenty of tourist attractions in Gyeongju and Cheongdo surrounding the campsite, including the Unmun Mountain Natural Recreation Forest and Dansok Mountain. A short 10-minute drive will take you to various restaurants where you can enjoy meals to your liking. One of the most popular activities in the area during summer is water play.
