Deokju Campground in Mount Wolak National Park
Located in the Songgye Valley of the majestic Mount Wolak, Deokju Campground is a charming camping site that offers an authentic Korean outdoor experience. It’s nestled in Hansu-myeon, Jecheon City, in North Chungcheong Province, about 56 kilometers from Jecheon City Hall. This makes it roughly a 90-minute drive, traveling via Cheongpung Lake and Wolak Road.
The campground’s proximity to the road makes it easily accessible, and the Songgye Valley location ensures a delightful camping experience coupled with fun water activities during the summer season. The site features around 200 ordinary camping spots, each approximately 40 square meters, made of bare soil. However, personal trailers and caravans are not allowed on the premises.
The campground operates only during the spring, summer, and autumn seasons, and they accept reservations made on-site or online in real-time. While there’s no convenience store on the campground, there are supermarkets and convenience stores just a 5-minute drive away, ensuring no inconvenience in purchasing necessary camping supplies.
Do note, however, that the campground lacks shower facilities and does not permit the entry of pets. Surrounding the campground are numerous tourist attractions like the Jecheon Deokju Mountain Fortress and the Mansu Valley Nature Observation Path. Jecheon is also famous for its clean agricultural products and hometown-style dishes, with the nourishing meals at the renowned local restaurant, Bapsangwi’s Boyakhantjip.
