Overview
Moon Palace Healing Campground, located adjacent to the Jirisan Moon Palace Valley, is approximately 100m away from the Moon Palace Auto Camping Site, separated by a road. Unlike the auto camping site, the parking and camping areas are separated, making vehicle entry impossible. Although you will need to manually transport your baggage, trolleys are available for ease of movement.
Since July 2017, the campground has implemented a full reservation system, meaning prior booking is needed to use the site. Note that parking fees are separate from the camping fees, which are quite affordable; off-peak season rate goes for 5,000 won while peak season rate is 7,000 won. Please bear in mind that no electricity is available here.
Situated at a high altitude among the five campgrounds in the northern Jirisan National Park, the Moon Palace Healing Campground is located at an altitude of over 560m above sea level, making it difficult to feel the heat even in the midsummer. Despite the presence of a valley, the coolness can only be truly felt on extremely hot days, and at noon, otherwise, the weather is typically chilly. The low temperature also brings the advantage of almost no mosquitoes.
