Prairie Auto Campground (초원오토캠핑장)
Nestled in the heart of Chungcheongbuk-do, the Prairie Auto Campground (초원오토캠핑장) is a beautifully decorated camping site that will make you feel as if you’ve stepped into an art gallery.
Introduction
The Prairie Auto Campground, also known as “Five Stones Garden”, is located in the Central Tap-dong area of Chungju City, approximately 13km from the Chungju City Hall. It takes about 20 minutes by car to reach the site, passing through the City Hall Road, Tan Geumdae Road, and Gamno Road. The campground is easily accessible as it is adjacent to the road. Upon entering, the eye-catching art pieces and emotional phrases will welcome you.
The campground offers 24 standard camping sites made of crushed stone, each measuring 7m by 9m, providing ample and comfortable space for campers. Barbecue grills and electricity are available for use, however, personal trailers are not allowed, though caravans are welcome. The management office provides tent and barbecue grill rentals. The campground operates only in spring, summer, and autumn. Reservations can be made via phone call or online in real-time. Please note that pets are not allowed in this campground.
Near the campground, you can find attractions like the Suryong Valley, Goguryeo Astronomical Science Museum, and the Chungju Rose Mountain Fortress. If you are feeling peckish, you can head over to the local restaurant, Central Tap-dong Jangsu House, which serves delicious and savory Nurungji Baeksuk (crispy rice soup with chicken).
