Heavenly Peak Camping Site
Located in the serene Sancheok-myeon, Chungju, in Chungbuk province, the Heavenly Peak Camping Site (천등산캠핑장) is a nature lover’s paradise. It’s nestled right beside the vast Samtan River and just about a 35-minute drive from the Chungju City Hall, making it a perfect escape from city life.
Getting to the Camping Site
The Heavenly Peak Camping Site is about 21km away from the Chungju City Hall. To get there, you can take a refreshing drive along the Chungwon Road, followed by the Northern Route and the Indeung Road.
Facilities and Amenities
The camping site features 60 standard camping grounds, each made of crushed stone and measures about 8m in width and 6m in length. The sites are spaced out nicely, providing ample parking space and a relaxed camping experience.
Amenities for rent at the management office include tents, reel lines, braziers, and dishes. The site also welcomes personal trailers and caravans. Pets are allowed, adding to the site’s appeal for families and pet owners.

Reservations are accepted only online and the campsite operates year-round, so you can enjoy the site’s natural beauty in all seasons.

There are many tourist attractions located near the camping site like Samtan Amusement Park and Park Dal Forest. You can also visit the famous Geogung Meeting Hall near Chungju Lake, known for its spicy freshwater fish soup and rainbow trout bibimbap.
