Charcoal Valley Campground
Charcoal Valley Campground, or “Chamsootgol” in Korean, is a delightful spot located in Godae-myeon, Dangjin-si, Chungnam. Just around 8km from Dangjin City Hall, a quick 15-minute drive via Wondang-ro and Geumam-ro will lead you to this hidden gem. Despite its unexpected location inside the city, once you step foot into the entrance, you’ll find yourself surrounded by a nature-friendly space that may initially leave you bewildered.
Accommodation and Services
The campground offers 15 general camping lots, five of which are grass and the remaining ten are made up of crushed stones. Both personal trailers and caravans are allowed, and even your small dogs can join in on the fun. The main attraction of this campsite is its self-barbecue service where campers only need to prepare their food. For a group of four, the cost is just 30,000 KRW. However, bringing in alcoholic beverages is not allowed.

Nearby, you’ll find various attractions such as the Fine Stone cc and Seokmun Weir. There are also numerous restaurants near the industrial complex, so finding a satisfying meal should be no issue.
