Bokwang Agricultural Experience and Relaxation Village
Known in Korean as 보광농촌체험휴양마을, Bokwang Agricultural Experience and Relaxation Village is a unique camping site located in the middle of Daegwallyeong, a popular mountain pass in Gangwon Province.
Introduction
This camping site is nestled halfway up the Daegwallyeong pass, located between Daegwallyeong Village and the path leading to Bohyeonsa Temple. What sets this camping site apart is that it has been set up in a repurposed elementary school, a joint effort by the residents of three villages – Bokwang-1, Bokwang-2, and Eoheul. The entire camping area sprawls from the school’s playground to the forest adjacent to the stream. This means campers can soak in the nostalgic atmosphere of the old school while enjoying the bliss of camping amidst nature. In line with its name, this camping site offers various experiential activities. From enjoying the temple food of the beautiful millennium-old Bohyeonsa Temple to participating in a healing exploration program amidst the pine scent, there’s something for everyone. The village also offers programs where you can collect and take home the village’s local products.
