Vitoae: A Tranquil Island Camping Site
Nestled at the edge of Sacheon in Gyeongnam, Vitoae is a unique camping site. It’s situated on Vito Island, which is steeped in folklore. The island is associated with the well-known Korean folk tale “Byeoljubujeon”, which tells the story of a resourceful turtle that narrowly escapes having its liver stolen by a rabbit intent on presenting it to the Dragon King. Vitoae is a part of this enchanting landscape, offering campers a unique blend of culture and nature.
Getting There
To reach Vitoae, one must first cross the Vito Bridge from Sacheon. The first island you encounter is Sol Island, and further along, connected to Vito Island, you find the glamping site of Vitoae. The location of this glamping site is truly unique. It’s perched on a hill that’s adjacent to the beach, allowing campers to fully immerse themselves into the rhythm of nature.
The Glamping Experience
At high tide, you can enjoy the sound of the waves and the scent of the sea, making it a perfect spot to relax and unwind. During low tide, the beach transforms into a mudflat where you can have fun collecting shellfish. There are only five glamping units available, ensuring a secluded and intimate experience. Adding to the charm, there’s also a beautifully designed café right next to the glamping site.
