The Experience at Ash Play

At Ash Play, you can indulge in the 500-year-old tradition of the Gyeongju Kim family, served on an organic earthenware table set. The mastermind behind this authentic experience is Jin Hye-ryeon, the sixth generation of the Gyeongju Kim family. She takes pride in serving guests with fermented dishes prepared in over three-year-old yellow soil.

With a keen interest in popularizing Goseong rice and family cuisine, Jin Hye-ryeon invented Seorak rice cake and Ash Play table set. Her creations have earned accolades such as winning the grand prize in three categories – Traditional Food, Well-being Food, and Traditional Rice Cake – at the 2009 Gangwon ‘Gangwon Food·Green Rural’ Vitality Festival Cooking Competition.
