Founded by Dr. Ju Young-ha and Dr. Choi Ok-ja, the museum boasts an impressive assortment of folk art, wooden crafts, clothing, accessories, pottery, paintings, and calligraphy. These items have been carefully collected over the span of 40 years, creating a treasure trove of Korean culture for visitors like you to appreciate and learn from.

Originally located in Chungmuro, the museum has since moved to its current location, a four-story concrete building that first opened its doors on May 5, 1973. Inspired by the traditional tower design from the Baekje era, this architectural masterpiece offers a unique blend of old and new, symbolizing the harmony between tradition and innovation.

Since the university’s name was changed to Sejong University in 1979, the museum also took on its current name, the Sejong University Museum.
