Welcome to Seochon Guest House, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Seoul’s vibrant Seochon district. With its prime location on the road to Suseong Valley, our guest house is surrounded by intriguing stores, artistic attractions such as Park Nosoo Art Gallery, and the historic House of Yun Dong-ju.

At Seochon Guest House, also known as ‘Jaeminangol’ in reference to Baekseok’s poem ‘Yeowunangol,’ we strive to offer our guests a truly captivating experience. As you make your way through our enchanting garden and step into our main building, you’ll immediately be drawn to the unique charm of our traditional hanok architecture. The staircase leading from the main floored room to the first floor is a sight to behold, adorned with stylish paintings and Korean musical instruments. On the first floor, our terrace provides a picturesque view of the surrounding area, allowing you to immerse yourself in the beauty of the hanok structures and quaint alleyways of Seochon.

Originally built in the 1930s, our guest house was lovingly restored by our owner couple in 2014 after they fell in love with its allure during their own trip to Seochon. Since January 2016, the ground floor has been open to guests, fostering a warm and welcoming environment where travelers can share their stories and daily experiences.

Our guest house offers a variety of rooms, each with its own distinct charm and comfort. The Jae Room embodies traditional Korean style, while the Mi Room combines Korean and Western influences. For those seeking tranquility, the Nan Room with its beautiful paper window is perfect for meditation. Lastly, the Ahn Room features a veranda and a delightful flowerbed, adding a touch of whimsy to your stay. No matter which room you choose, you can rest assured that you’ll find a quiet and cozy haven in the midst of the bustling city.

To enhance your cultural experience, Seochon Guest House hosts a biannual pansori performance. Our owner, who learned the art of pansori to promote Korean culture, provides traditional snacks and drinks during these performances, inviting guests and performers alike to indulge in the richness of Korean tradition. Additionally, we offer various cultural programs such as Gukak (Korean classical music) experiences, Korean traditional clothing experiences, and even the opportunity to learn how to make Korean food. Join us on a trip to explore the city wall between Inwangsan Mountain and Bugaksan Mountain, or embark on a royal palace tour to Gyeongbokgung Palace. And if you’re a fan of local markets, we’ll take you on an unforgettable journey through a traditional market.

At Seochon Guest House, we believe in providing more than just a place to stay. We aim to create lasting memories and connections through our warm hospitality and diverse cultural programs. Whether you’re a solo traveler, a couple seeking a romantic getaway, or a family looking for an authentic experience, we invite you to immerse yourself in the beauty and charm of Seochon at our guest house. Plan your visit today and let us be your guide to the best of Seoul.
