Chilgok-gun is a county located in the midstream of the Nakdong River, in the southwestern part of Gyeongsangbuk-do.
It is bordered by Gunwi-gun and Daegu Metropolitan City to the east, Seongju-gun and Gimcheon-si to the west, and Daegu Metropolitan City to the south.
