Royal Field Resort: Caravan Experience with the Gorgeous Backdrop of the Hongcheon River
Located in Nam-myeon, Chuncheon-si, Gangwon-do, the Royal Field Resort is a destination that offers a unique opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the Hongcheon River and the surrounding nature. Easily accessible from the Gangchon IC on the Seoul-Yangyang Expressway, a short 10-minute drive through the Magok and Uiam Humanoid Rock Historic Site will lead you to this hidden gem.
The Royal Field Resort operates 24 caravans and villas. There are four 6-person caravans and twenty 4-person caravans, each equipped with a bed, heating and cooling system, sink, refrigerator, TV, cooking utensils, crockery, a toilet, and a washbasin. Please note that each caravan does not have a shower facility, so you will have to use the communal shower area, which provides hot water twice a day from 8:00-11:00 and 17:00-21:00. A Mongolian tent-style awning with a table and chairs is provided on the deck outside the caravan.
For those seeking a more comfortable relaxation, the villas with six rooms are available. Each room is equipped with a Korean traditional heating system (ondol), bed, TV, refrigerator, air conditioner, a cozy bathroom with shower, a dining table, kitchen, and utensils. To use the barbecue facility, you need to order a charcoal set for 20,000 won, which includes charcoal, grill, gloves, tongs, and a fire starter. Please note that the entrance of visitors is prohibited, and check-in is restricted after 9:30 PM.
The resort also offers additional facilities such as a water ski park, a swimming pool, a restaurant, a cafe, and a Cheongpyeong ferry pier. The water ski fee for intermediate skiers is 25,000 won, beginner instruction is 60,000 won, and water rides are 20,000 won (Fly Fish is 25,000 won).
