Five Island Mountain Natural Recreation Forest (오도산 자연휴양림)
A lovely night spent amidst a clear, sparkling stream and a forest rich with shade – that’s what awaits you at the Five Island Mountain Natural Recreation Forest.
Nestled on the slope of Five Island Mountain, which stands tall at an altitude of 1,134m, this recreational forest is a sight to behold. To the north, it is neighbored by Haeinsa, one of the three major Buddhist temples in South Korea, and to the south, it connects with Hapcheon Lake, together forming a breathtaking natural landscape.
The forest offers you a chance to be one with nature, immersing in the cool water trickling down the mountain’s deep valleys all year round and the soothing sound of the mountain birds.
Within the recreational forest, you’ll find numerous facilities for your convenience, including ‘Forest Houses’ for accommodation, a Youth Training Center, and a campground with over 80 sites. The sites are categorized into wooden bridge and camping decks, and upper wooden bridge and camping decks. While vehicles can access the lower camping deck, for the upper deck, it’s a 20-50m walk after parking your vehicle.
The recreational forest is dotted with hiking trails, walking paths, campgrounds, Forest Houses, and natural water playgrounds, ensuring worry-free fun for children. Next to the water playgrounds, there are sports facilities where you can also engage in physical activities. The impeccably maintained washrooms, showers, and swimming pool will make you want to revisit.
