Under the Pine Forest Campsite
The ‘Under the Pine Forest’ campsite, also known as ‘Sonamu Sup Arae’ in Korean, is nestled in the Suanbo-myeon area of Chungju city, Chungcheongbuk-do. This beautiful campsite blends the tranquility of a forest and valley, making it an ideal spot for naturalistic camping.
Getting There
The campsite is approximately 32 kilometers from Chungju City Hall, a journey that takes about 40 minutes by car. The travel route encompasses Gukwon Daero, Jungwon Daero, and Mireuk Songgye Daero. Its proximity to the main road makes it easily accessible.
Campsite Features
The campsite is designed with a total of 22 deck camping sites, nestled within a pine forest and by a stream. The site dimensions and number of decks are as follows:
- 16 decks measuring 4m (width) by 7.2m (length)
- 3 decks measuring 4m (width) by 6m (length)
- 3 decks measuring 5.4m (width) by 5.4m (length)
Each campsite comes equipped with a brazier, electricity, and wireless internet access. However, personal trailers and caravans are not allowed. The management office provides rental services for extension cords and braziers. Operating seasons include spring, summer, and fall, with reservations accepted in real-time online. Pets are welcomed, regardless of their size.
Nearby Attractions
There are a plethora of attractions nearby, including Suanbo Hot Springs and the Maehawk Waterfall. There’s also a restaurant known as ‘Gamnamu Jip’ where you can sample pheasant dishes. The campsite is also a fantastic location for summer water activities.
