Paekdo Auto Camping Ground: The Beautiful Beachside Retreat
Nestled between Sokcho and Ganseong, you’ll find the Paekdo beach. The Paekdo Auto Camping Ground is an exceptional public camping site located right on this beach. It’s called “Paekdo” because of the white rock island situated under the beach. Above the beach, there’s the picturesque but small Paekdo harbor, while down below, it connects to Moonam harbor and Moonam beach. Behind, you’ll see the silhouette of the Seorak mountain range, and the thick pine forest enhances the site’s charm. The bow-shaped white sandy beach with its shallow incline is perfect for swimming, and recently, it’s become a popular spot for surfing. Not far from the camping ground are attractions like Cheonhakjeong, Cheongganjeong, World Jamboree, Hwaamsa, and Songjiho.
