Heukseoksan Natural Recreation Forest
The Heukseoksan Natural Recreation Forest, originally known as Gahaksan Natural Recreation Forest, is a camping site located on the ridge of Heukseoksan Mountain, one of the famous mountains in Haenam. This site has been in operation since 1999, managed by the Haenam County. Not only does it offer camping facilities, but it also operates a forest house pension for a more comfortable stay.
The camping site is well-equipped, offering electricity for each deck, cooking facilities, and restrooms. Additionally, there is a grass plaza in front of the mountain hut where visitors can enjoy outdoor parties using the provided tables.
Experience the Close Proximity of Mountain and Nature
Located in the mountains, this camping site allows visitors to intimately experience the mountain scenery. There are hiking trails leading to Heukseoksan, Gahaksan, and Duyeokbong, where you can witness the harmony of strange rocks, azaleas, coniferous forests, and mixed forests. Particularly, the community of Japanese Cornel trees is one of the best in South Korea, and from the top, you can see a stunning view of a sea of clouds covering the mountains.
