Our Philosophy: Preserving Taste Through Traditional Methods

The restaurant’s slogan “전통방식의 수제자연식초로 풍미를 살리다” beautifully encapsulates our approach to food. It translates to “Preserve the taste with homemade natural vinegar made in traditional style”, and that is what we strive to achieve. Our lead chef and food researcher, Kim Hyun-sook, ensures that all our dishes are flavored with our very own homemade vinegar and cheong (a type of fruit syrup).

Our Specialties

At Gogapungkyung (고가풍경), we are proud to offer over 100 types of homemade natural vinegar, made in traditional style using various ingredients like nuruk (a type of fermentation starter), garlic, pine needles, bear’s paw, and cherries, amongst others. Another highlight of our menu is the Makgeolli, a traditional Korean rice wine that uses nuruk as its yeast. We also utilize locally sourced ingredients to make cheong, further enhancing the flavor of our dishes.
